02OCT07 / 23:49 / LAPTOP

busy day today but i feel like i didn't get much done. just alot of moving around. almost for this blog today. was watching Letterman and then it hit me. really miss the original Letterman, back in the days when it looked like he was broadcasting from his basement. long before his fancy suit wearing and 12 piece band days. the sketches were better too. Larry Bud Melman and Chris the guy under the steps were two of my favorites.
there really is no such thing as late night television anymore, guess we can blame our craving for cable/satellite shopping networks, info mercials, and reality TV. Long gone are the days of great line ups. channel 11 WPIX had the best, Odd Couple 23:00-23:30 ; Honeymooners 23:30 - 24:00, and the capper was the ORIGINAL Star Trek 24:00 - 01:00. then you would jump to channel 9 WWOR and watch Roger Moore as Simon Templer in re-runs of The Saint. If you were lucky, WABC 7 would have the Avengers with Dianna Rigg on at 02:00.
seems the advances and conveniences of technology killed off access to some of the greatest TV creativity there ever was, created in the time before the remote control. But hey, we now have American Idol. talk about advancement
